The Eastern Cape Game Reserves offers a natural gateway to the famous Garden Route. The Eastern Cape is the best location for families and first time safari visitors. The Eastern Cape is home to various nature reserves, marine reserves and game reserves, where a wide variety of fauna and flora can be found. It is a malaria free area, making it the perfect safari destination. The area supports prolific birdlife; and game includes, among others, the Big 5 (elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo). Various private reserves are to be found, as well as the famous Addo National Park – home to about 300 elephants in addition to Cape buffalo, black rhino, kudu, prolific bird life and lion.
