I approached Cape Tours when planning a trip to Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. I explained the kind of holiday I had in mind, and Cape Tours did the rest. Cape Tours prepared a great itinerary, arranging all the flights, transfers and accommodation. My wife and I had a fantastic trip, including excursions at Victoria Falls, game drives in Chobe, and exploring the Cape. I would thoroughly recommend an adventure in Africa. And if you are considering one, be sure to enquire with Cape Tours.

We throughly recommend booking with Mike at Cape Tours. It was our first time to SA and he was very knowledgeable and had great recommendations and knowledge of places to stay in Cape Town, along the Garden Route and safaris. He also provided suggestions of the ‘’must sees’, where to eat, comprehensive driving routes between destinations and useful travel tips. We had the most fabulous holiday and hope to return again

We have used Cape Tours for many years, more recently for safaris. The Cape Tours service is always friendly and very efficient and we are always confident that the holiday experience will be fantastic. Mike Tompkins ensured the places we originally visited in South Africa, many years ago, were far superior to any other major travel agency at the same cost. Our recent safaris have consistently passed all expectations and been the most amazing experiences we have had. Accommodation has been superb and the game viewing out of this world. Accordingly we trust Cape Tours for all our subsequent holidays.

I cannot recommend Cape Tours highly enough. We have now had three holidays in in southern Africa and Mike has made all the arrangements for us on each occasion. We had two visits to South Africa in 2016 and 2018 and have just returned from our first visit to Namibia. Each time Mike has given us advice to iterate to an itinerary which suits us and then he has made all of the arrangements. All of the hotels have been fantastic - and somehow Mike has managed to get us some of the best rooms within the hotels. I also appreciate the advice we get on what to do and where to visit during our holidays. Its a very personal service and all at a very competitive price. This year Mike arrange a great visit to Namibia for us including most of the major holiday locations (Kalihari desert, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland and Otjiwa Game Lodge). The organisation was perfect and again we stayed in great hotels in great locations. Its a very special place! During our visit to South Africa in 2018, we started with a safari in Kichaka Game Reserve before travelling across Route 62 to Paternoster on the West Coast. The spring flowers around the West Cost National Park were something really special! We then travelled on to Franschhoek (just the most fabulous village in the Winelands) before finishing off in Hermanus. We will return to southern Africa again - no doubt will the help and advice of Cape Tours...

Mike arranged our trip perfectly, all the accommodations were beautiful and the way it was put together worked wonderfully. To top it all off, he helped arrange the proposal to my girlfriend. We both cannot thank him enough and would recommend his services to anyone who is looking to travel to South Africa

Getting To Ihla de Mozambique

International flights into

There are daily Airlink flights to Nampula and LAM flights to Nacala.

By road and dhow from the Isle de Mozambique

The transfer by mini-van winds through the pretty countryside along a good tarmac road over the bridge to Ilha de Mozambique where guests board the Coral Lodge traditional sailing dhow. The transfer time depends on the tide and takes approx. 20-30 minutes at high tide and up to 45 minutes at low tide. At high tide, the dhow drops guests off at the lagoon entrance, next to the lodge. At low tide the dhow anchors in shallow, warm water 50-100m from the lodge, which means guests wade to the beach. Our team will take the luggage! Total transfer time is approx. 3.5 hours depending on the tide. Guests arriving on the Airlink flight from O.R. Tambo airport (Johannesburg), land at approximately 13h30. If there are no issues with visas or customs, guests should be on Ilha de Moçambique before 16h30. For return transfers, the reverse happens and guests generally leave the lodge by 08h00/08h30 depending on the tide, to arrive at the airport in Nampula by 11h30 that is 2.5 hours before the 14h00 Airlink departure.

Nampula to Coral Lodge round trip transfer fee: USD 400,00 per mini-van with a/c with a capacity of up to 6 persons (adults or children) including motorboat or dhow sailing boat transfer from Isle de Mozambique.

Coral Lodge is situated in the Northern part of Mozambique, Nampula Province, in an area called Mossuril Bay.

The nearest airports are Nampula, Nacala, and Lumbo (Airstrip)

The easiest access to the lodge is via boat from Ilha De Mozambique, due to its unique position.

All you have to do is get to either of the above airports, and Coral Lodge will do the rest.
