  • West Coast – Paternoster
  • Winelands – Bains Kloof

Consistently voted as the best city in the world, Cape Town has it all; a fascinating mix of vibrancy, history and culture, and spectacular natural beauty, all rubbing shoulder under the watchful and iconic magic of Table Mountain. The Dock House Boutique Hotel & Spa is a unique and opulent jewel in the crown of Cape Town’s glamorous, world-famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, offering discerning guests, visiting dignitaries and celebrities’ exclusive accommodation and personalised yet unobtrusive butler-style service in an excellent world-class setting

Paternoster is considered by many to be the most magical destination on the West Coast of Southern Africa. Where else in the region would you find such an irresistible combination of pristine beach, whitewashed village charm, and little to disturb the gentle, soothing atmosphere a mere hour away from Cape Town? Famously friendly, Paternoster has much of the rustic, idyllic character one would expect from a tiny Mediterranean Island. In fact, it’s one of the last traditional fishing villages on the West Coast. If you are looking for an unspoiled ocean getaway, it doesn’t get better than the exclusive Strandloper Ocean Lodge. Take the time to simply be, or if you are feeling more adventurous, set off on an endless beach walk in search of whales and dolphins, hop onto a bicycle for a leisurely ride or take to the waves on a kayak.

Nestled at the end of a tranquil valley below the historic Bainskloof Pass, Grand Dédale is set within an award-winning Wine Estate, offering sweeping views of the valley as well as the Groenberg, Limietberge and Hawekwa mountains. There are five scenic mountain passes nearby which connect the Cape’s various wine, brandy and fruit routes. The historical towns of Tulbagh, Ceres, Riebeek Kasteel, Robertson, Citrusdal and Darling all make for a pleasant day trip.

Hermanus, a seaside resort, famous for its champagne air and offering the best land-based whale watching in the world. A haven for nature lovers, Hermanus boasts 14km of cliff walks and over 40km of invigorating walks in the Fernkloof Nature Reserve and pristine beaches. Perched on top of the cliffs at Hermanus, The Marine has one of the southern hemisphere’s most spectacular seascapes. Commanding views extend across Walker Bay or over the beautiful internal courtyard, finely manicured gardens and the Overberg Mountains.

AIRPORT / V&A WATERFRONT (CAPE PENINSULA) – 4 Nights:

Cape Town is without doubt one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. Blending the old with the new, it has a relaxed, almost continental atmosphere. The influence of early Dutch settlers in 1652, Malay slaves and British rulers have created a rich tapestry of culture not found anywhere else.

The Victoria and Alfred Basins, Table Bay Harbour:  Built in 1860 and still a working harbour, the Victoria and Alfred had been developed into one of South Africa’s biggest tourist attractions.  Original buildings have been renovated and new ones built, all in Victorian style.  There are museums, boat trips, helicopter flips, restaurants, pubs, a brewery, two shopping centres, hotels, theatres, cinemas, The Two Oceans Aquarium (with more than 4,000 creatures representing some 300 species), an outdoor amphitheatre, craft markets, live music and a rich variety of outdoor entertainment.

Dock House Boutique Hotel & Spa is a unique and opulent jewel in the crown of Cape Town’s glamorous, world-famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, offering discerning guests, visiting dignitaries and celebrities exclusive accommodation and personalised yet unobtrusive butler-style service in an excellent world-class setting.

Originally built as the Harbour Master’s private residence in the 1800’s, this grand architectural gem has been transformed into one of Cape Town’s most exclusive and elegant boutique hotels.

Understated grace meets contemporary-classical glamour; from the groomed gardens surrounding the slick outdoor swimming pool and bar area, to the well-appointed interior, which boasts five plush bedrooms, a spacious suite, an elegant Morning room and a private library.

The glamorous suite and each of the five chic rooms at Dock House Boutique Hotel & Spa have been individually decorated and imbued with a unique and understated Victorian elegance, juxtaposed with lush contemporary style and comfort.

Attention to detail is the order of the day with each room equipped with an en-suite designer bathroom, a stylish open bar, plasma-screen television, satellite decoder and free high-speed wireless internet connection. The suite has access to a private garden, while the other ground floor room opens onto a veranda overlooking the groomed garden and swimming pool area. Three of the 4 four upstairs rooms have balconies overlooking the Waterfront’s scenic harbour and surroundings – two of these upstairs rooms have an optional interconnection facility.

V&A WATERFRONT / PATERNOSTER (WEST COAST) – 3 Nights:

The West Coast and its hinterland are a cultural experience of museums, monuments and missionary stations such as Mamre and Wupperthal. In spring, carpets of wild flowers cover the region from the coast to the mountains. Spring flowers and fynbos are a constantly changing wonder that attracts hikers and nature lovers throughout the year.

If you are looking for an unspoiled ocean getaway, it doesn’t get better than the exclusive new Strandloper Ocean Lodge. Hidden away on the shores of the unspoiled fishing village of Paternoster, only 90 minutes from Cape Town, this is a coastal destination with immeasurable charm.

Take the time to simply be, or if you are feeling more adventurous, set off on an endless beach walk in search of whales and dolphins, hop onto a bicycle for a leisurely ride or take to the waves on a kayak.

Paternoster is a seafood and lobster Mecca, a gourmet destination for travelers in search of the ultimate meal. Inspired cuisine with a local and organic slant is created daily at the Ocean Lounge, which also serves up breathtaking views of the surroundings.

The 16 suites and rooms at Strandloper Ocean Lodge offer laid-back luxury and romance. Designed to blur the lines between outdoors and indoors, each has its own terrace or courtyard with large folding doors and unforgettable views that sweep across the ocean or the unique West Coast landscape. The spacious rooms have been meticulously thought through and feature handmade stone baths and vanities, outdoor showers and clean organic shapes and textures. High ceilings create a feeling of freedom and the warm, earthy tones add to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

PATERNOSTER / WELLINGTON (WINELANDS) – 3 Nights:

Nestled at the foot of Bainskloof Pass in a beautiful long valley, the exclusive Estate is set on 380 hectares of vineyard, forest and fynbos and is surrounded by three dramatic mountain ranges. The Kromme River, which is supplemented by water from “Gawie se Water” runs through the Estate and is a major natural attraction.

“Doolhof” is the Afrikaans word for labyrinth and was given to the Estate by the early settlers in 1709, due to the many hills and vales which allowed only one way in and out. Grand Dédale translates into “Great Labyrinth”.

Today we invite our guests to experience the mystical Doolhof Valley. Entering the romantic country road leading into the Estate, guests are surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery, vineyards and mysterious forests. The gates with the great “D” lead past manicured horse paddocks and rows of white roses, revealing the beauty and elegance of the Estate. Being the last Estate on a “cul-de-sac”, tranquility and privacy are guaranteed.

The deluxe facility, formerly the Doolhof Manor House and private residence of the owners of Doolhof Wine Estate, offers sweeping views of the valley as well as the Groenberg, Limietberge and Hawekwa mountains.

At Grand Dédale, South African and international guests are able to enjoy sumptuous comfort, discreet service and complete privacy and exclusivity in six individually designed and appointed en-suite bedrooms, or in the romantic thatched stone cottage, amidst beautiful Winelands scenery.

Accommodation consists of six beautifully appointed and individually designed rooms and suites in the historic Manor House and one free standing thatched cottage, all reflecting the Cape Dutch elegance of the buildings with 21st century comfort and 5 star luxury. Interiors have been carefully chosen to suit the style, with a subtle use of technology. The rooms are spacious and equipped with the finest materials, linen and amenities giving an instant homely feel.
